hello, my name is SHELBI.
Currently living just north of Atlanta, and recently graduated from Kennesaw State. I began pursuing photography when I took a trip to the country of El Salvador where I discovered the magical gift of capturing moments in time. I thrive in the outdoors, whether that be exploring new places, chasing sunsets, jumping off waterfalls, or hiking to the top of a mountain. You guessed it, your girl doesn't mind getting a little dirty to enjoy life a little more.
When it comes to talking about who I am, I would say that talking about myself is definitely not my forte. But for the sake of truth, here goes. When I am not behind the lens, you can find me relaxing somewhere soaking up that vitamin D or out at the local mexican restaurant or hibachi joint with my husband, friends, or family. When it comes to living I choose to live life in a way that allows me to be FREE. Free from feeling like I have to do certain things to feel accepted, included, or popular. Free from feeling insecure (now by all means, am I saying I never feel insecure? NO. But when envy might try to consume my thoughts and feelings, I do everything in my power to destroy it). When it comes to photos, I feel like often times, people feel the pressure to look and appear to be someone they are not. Understanding that when you try to be anyone BUT who God made you to be, you can only fake it for so long. So why even entertain the thought? People, this is where my passion begins.
It is a passion I have along with photography to join the two and capture nothing else but the true, raw, beauty of who YOU are. Beauty does not always look like what culture says is "pretty". Beauty cannot be defined. Beauty is unique. If you love running through fields of cotton to chase a sunset, I'm right behind you. If you want to hike to find a hidden paradise, count me in. If you want to walk the belt-line, I'm already on the way. Bottom line, I love finding and capturing beauty in every form. Having the opportunity to create something that embodies who you are- now that is what will forever fuel my passion.
